A new install at Mersen, a global expert in electrical solutions in sectors such as energy, transportation, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical and process industries, this facility is located in north central PA. This RTU cooling tower replaced a metal tower which rusted out prematurely. An internal divider wall was added to the two-fan REYMSA cooling tower, resulting in two cells with one fan each, so they can operate independently. Each cell is sized for 75% of current load for redundancy rather than 2 single cell towers (more first cost and install cost). Tower is bottom gravity drain into sump below, but the owner asked REYMSA to leave the side bottom outlets, which are being used as inlets so tower cells can be bypassed for an emergency fan and for easy repair. Thanks to Thermaltech in Pittsburgh for this great job.
